Aprilia Racing Marelli Racing ECU for RS660 2020/2021/2022/2023 V1.0

ECU configuration: AS622_P579_AD15_R, code: COE21034

Aprilia Racing has developed a dedicated ECU for the RS660 for track use. The advance and injection map is dedicated to a full racing exhaust and the electronic management of the intervention parameters and of the control systems, is recalibrated for the specific use in closed circuit. These new calibrations allow extreme banking angles without triggering an invasive response from the control systems, which may still be set from the switchgear on the handlebar. The reduced engine braking effect allows faster, smoother braking. The Marelli Racing ECU has been specifically reprogrammed for this application, and the new map differs from the standard production one, as follows:

  • Injection and ignition advance maps for complete racing exhaust system, without catalyst.
  • Configured for the use of the 180/60 rear tire and slick.
  • Management disabled of canister valve, oxygen sensor and secondary air system.
  • Immobilizer disabled (in ECU).
  • FW update compared to the previous version AS621_P577_AD_04_R
    • NOTE - The dashboard must also be replaced in order to remove the ignition switch assembly and the physical immobilizer system.

Functional differences relative to standard map:

  • Reduced engine brake effect in general, and in low gears.
  • All engine maps are completely unrestricted (full power) and specific for racing exhaust systems.
  • Also usable with ABS. In any case, the ABS control unit must remain connected to the electrical wiring and in the original position.

Description of ECU maps in the "RACE" mode (Challenge e Time attack)

AEM maps description (power delivery management)

  • AEM 1 - Map with more direct throttle response than AEM 2 map.
  • AEM 2 - Reference map.
  • AEM 3 - Map with less direct throttle response than AEM 2 map.

AEB maps description (engine brake control system)

  • AEB 1 - Map with little engine brake with the bike straight, which then increases in value with a greater lean angle.
  • AEB 2 - Reference map that maintains the same engine brake value, even when the bike is very inclined.
  • AEB 3 - like AEB 2 map, but with more engine braking.
  1. We recommend starting with map AEM 2, AEB 2, TCS at level 3, AWC at level O.
  2. Dashboard gear shift flash setting at: 11.300 RPM.
  3. We recommend that you disable the blipper parameter.

Notes on AWC and ABS parameters:

  • It is suggested to always keep the AWC parameter at O.
  • The value of the ABS parameter is irrelevant to the general operation of the motorcycle, if it is not connected to the brake system of the motorcycle. Therefore any set value does not vary on the dynamics of the bike.

NOTE:

  1. This ECU must be used together with the standard clutch control switch. The ECU will not function correctly if this switch is removed.
  2. We recommend starting with a high TC level when using for the first time, and then trying gradually lower settings.
  3. IMPORTANT: Use only spark plugs with type and brand, as described in the use and maintenance booklet of the bike.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • This ECU was designed for use in motorsports competitions on circuits closed to traffic. For this reason, use on public roads is strictly prohibited.
  • This EU must be installed by expert personnel with official palm-held instrumentation for configuration of the bike's parameters.
  • This component is not covered by warranty and therefore the manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any problems or damage caused.
  • Always remember that making modifications to the electronics parameters may cause serious consequences for the bike and the rider.
